Gloster's Salina Outdoor Furniture Collection

The text describes the Salina seating collection designed by Matteo Thun and Benedetto Fasciana for Gloster, highlighting its low-profile design inspired by the Aeolian island's landscape, emphasizing open lattice and generous upholstery to maintain an unobstructed horizon view.

GLOSTER’S SALINA KEEPS THE HORIZON OPEN Set against the flat blue band of sea and sky, Salina keeps a low profile. The seating group gives the terrace a center without crowding the view. Matteo Thun and Benedetto Fasciana designed the collection for Gloster with Salina, the Aeolian island north of Sicily, as their reference. Teak posts stand at the corners. Fiber-wrapped frames and open woven panels connect them. Deep cushions sit inside that light perimeter. The construction looks substantial from the front and visually light from behind. The contrast between open lattice and generous upholstery defines the collection. The lattice admits light. The cushions bring volume and weight. The site makes the design logic clear. Stone walls provide weight, trees cast shade, and the infinity pool draws the eye outward. In the foreground, Salina marks out a place to sit. The horizon still controls the composition.
