60 AUTUMN 2026 ASPIREDESIGNANDHOME.COM 61 “I’ve always admired Italy’s sophisticated blending of modernist elements with historic structures” From the corner of the Palazzo Bed, an arched doorway leads to the dressing room, where an 18th-century oval-back chair, restored in Venetian silk velvet from Schumacher, via Charles Spada, sits beneath “TAFEL 4,” artist unknown, also from Charles Spada. The rust wool dress is Tharp’s own design; French doors beyond open to a large private terrace. ABOVE LEFT: An original arched doorway, crowned in rope molding, frames the passage from silvery calm to Sienese warmth. The LT Signature four-door cabinet from the Lisa Tharp Collection — walnut, ivory panels, brass inlays that wink at the firm’s logo — hosts a Brutalist plaster lamp found on Chairish, beneath “A Copper Totem and Benign Neglect” by L. Fahn R., hung as an asymmetrical diptych. ABOVE RIGHT: Beneath restored ornamental plasterwork, a Fortuny Scheherazade two-tier silk chandelier floats like a lantern over a room composed for company. Eno high-back lounge chairs from The Bright Group draw close around a 1970s Italian occasional table sourced on 1stDibs, all grounded by a geometric silk rug from Stark. Above the carved stone mantel — one of three working fireplaces Tharp revived — hangs “Among” by Los Angeles artist Fia Tharp. LEFT: The Palazzo Bed from the Lisa Tharp Collection, its spare canopy a reductionist homage to Venetian palaces, frames the ceiling Tharp fell for at first click. Upholstered in lustrous Maharam fabric and dressed in custom velvet bedding beneath Donghia silk shades, it’s flanked by a Young Chest from Tritter Feefer. On the wall, “Untitled” (July 28, 2024) by Marc Schepens, Ellen Miller Gallery, and on the mantel, Thomas Junghans’s Canorus Nocti, M Fine Arts Galerie, beside “Self Portrait Study” by Fia Tharp.
